How it works

You draw how calls are answered. The phones do that.

The drawing is not a picture of the settings. It is the settings, so changing how your phones answer is something you do yourself, in a minute.

How a call is answered on a new Sindria system, step by step

Call flowthe flow every new system starts with
This is the call flow every new Sindria system begins with: a real one, not an illustration.

Four steps

From a new system to yours

1. We set up your system

A machine of its own for your business, with a number on it, and an invitation to sign in.

2. You draw how calls are answered

Start from the call flow above and add what you need: your hours, a menu, a ring group, voicemail.

3. You add your people

A name and the extension they answer, with a voicemail box if you want one.

4. You change it whenever you like

Change the drawing and the phones change. No ticket, and nobody to wait for.

In the trade’s words

What other phone systems call it

Sindria names its steps in plain words. If you are comparing it with another business phone system, or you know the trade’s names, these are the same things.

VoIP

Calls carried over the internet instead of a telephone line. Every call on Sindria is.

Hosted PBX, or cloud PBX

A PBX is the switchboard of a business phone system. We host one for each business, on a machine of its own, so there is no box in your office.

Auto attendant, or IVR

The menu a caller hears: press 1 for sales, 2 for support. On the drawing it is the step “Caller picks an option”.

Call routing, or a call flow

Where each call goes, and in what order. Here it is the drawing itself.

Ring group, or hunt group

Several people rung for one call. On the drawing it is the step “Ring a group”.

Time-of-day routing

Calls answered one way when you are open, and another when you are closed or on a holiday. On the drawing it is the step “Are we open?”.

Call forwarding

A call passed on to a mobile or to any outside number. On the drawing it is the step “Ring an outside number”.

Voicemail box

Where a caller leaves a message, for one person or for the whole business. On the drawing it is the step “Take a message”.

SIP trunk

The line from a carrier that carries your calls. Ours comes with the number we give you, or you can run on a carrier account in your own name.

See it for yourself

Ring 919-446-5484 and watch.

It is answered by the call flow on our home page. Ring it, then watch the call move through the steps.

Watch the call flow

You have been offered two bad options

Powerful, and untouchable

Run it yourself and every change is a config file, a reload and a risk. Entirely capable, if you employ somebody who knows how.

Easy, because it is locked

Hosted systems are simple because the useful parts are not yours to change. Anything real means a ticket and a wait.

Sindria is the third one. The software absorbs the expertise instead of exposing it, so you get the control of the first with the calm of the second, and the diagram above is what that looks like in practice.

Getting started

How a business gets set up

You can sign up on your own, and it starts with a form.

  1. Fill in the form: your business, your email and the address the phones will be used at.
  2. Confirm your email and add a card. Nothing is charged until your phone system is ordered.
  3. Your phone system is built, with a number on it. From there the call flow is yours to draw, and to change whenever you like.
