Cloud PBX

A cloud PBX that is yours alone.

A PBX is the switchboard of a business phone system. A cloud PBX, also called a hosted PBX, is one that somebody else runs for you and that your calls reach over the internet. Sindria hosts one for each business, on a machine of its own.

What it is

What a hosted PBX does

It answers every call to your number and decides what happens next: play a menu, ring one person, ring a group, send the call to a mobile, or take a message. It gives each person an extension, and it keeps a history of the calls. On Sindria all of that is one drawing, the call flow, and what you draw is exactly what runs.

Because the calls are carried over the internet, this is VoIP. Because it is hosted, there is no box in your office to buy, power or update.

How Sindria hosts it

A machine of its own, not a slice of somebody else’s

One business, one system

Your phone system runs on its own server. It is not a tenant in a system shared with other businesses.

What goes wrong stays put

What goes wrong for one customer stays with that customer. Somebody else’s busy day is not yours.

The drawing is the configuration

There is no second set of settings behind the picture to fall out of step. Change the drawing and the phones change.

What a cloud PBX replaces

The parts, by their trade names

Auto attendant

The menu a caller hears. On Sindria it is the step “Caller picks an option”. More about it.

Ring groups

Several people rung for one call: the step “Ring a group”.

Time-of-day routing

Open, closed and holiday, each answered its own way: the step “Are we open?”.

Voicemail

A box for each person and one for the business: the step “Take a message”.

Call forwarding

A call passed on to a mobile or to any outside number: the step “Ring an outside number”.

Extensions

The short number each person answers inside the business, set up on a page of their own.

The price

$19 a person a month

No minimum, no term and no platform fee. The whole of the hosted PBX is in that price. See the arithmetic, and what each part is called here.
