Fair use

Calls are included. Here is what that means.

$19 a person covers normal business calling on the number we give you. It is not metered, and nothing on this page changes what an ordinary business pays.

Calls at the same time

At most 2 outside calls at once for each person and each line nobody is assigned to, and never fewer than 4. A call your call flow passes on to a mobile counts while it rings. You can set it lower in the console; adding people raises it. This is what stops a stolen phone password, or an auto-dialer, running dozens of calls at once.

The level we look at

1,500 minutes of calls out a person each month, pooled across your business, or 500 a month for a business of one. Only calls out to other numbers count, including a call your call flow passes on to a mobile. Calls answered on your own phones, calls between your own phones and 911 calls never count. A business of one has the lower level because its single seat also has to carry the cost of its own server and number.

If you go over it

We email your business's owners the numbers. Nothing changes: your phones, your calls and 911 work exactly as before. If it happens two months running, we agree one of two ways forward with you: connecting your own carrier account, or paying 2 cents a minute above the level. If neither suits, service ends with 30 days' notice.

What $19 a person is not for

Auto-dialers (predictive, power or parallel dialling), call centres and telemarketing, and reselling or sharing your lines outside your business.

On your own carrier

Your carrier bills you for your calls, so the level above does not apply. The limit on calls at once still does, because it is what stops a stolen phone password running up that bill.

911

Never limited and never counted.
